Creative Approach to Still-Life Painting (Online Course) Fall 2026 w/ Susan Ashworth

A four-week online course exploring creative approaches to still-life painting through live demonstrations, artist references, discussion and practical assignments.
The course runs on Tuesdays from 6 October to 27 October 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM Eastern Time. All sessions are recorded and can be viewed for three months after the final class.
Course fee: $265 -
Across the four sessions, Susan will guide students through:
Creating light and form with a limited colour palette
Selecting meaningful objects and developing compositions
Using textured grounds to create depth and atmosphere
Layering colour, tone and glazes to refine a series of paintings
The course is designed to help participants develop original still-life work through a combination of studies, experimentation and completed paintings.

Students will work with drawing paper, prepared boards or canvases, gouache, acrylic or oil paints, brushes and a selection of objects for their still-life arrangement.
